Notice of Virtual Public Meeting 

TAKE NOTICE of the holding of a public meeting for the purpose of informing the public and hearing representation in respect of a proposed by-law for the purpose of rezoning lands legally described as Part of Lots 1 & 2, Concessions 16 &17 and Part of Lot 73, West of Hastings Road, Geographic Township of Faraday, Town of Bancroft, County of Hastings. A key map is attached to this notice.

AND TAKE NOTICE THAT a complete application has been received by the Corporation of the Town of Bancroft for the passage of a by-law to amend the following zones:

  • Residential Type One – Exception Seventeen - Holding (R1-17-h) Zone;
  •  Residential Type One – Exception Eighteen - Holding (R1-18-h) Zone;
  •  Residential Type One – Exception Nineteen - Holding (R1-19-h) Zone;
  •  Residential Type One – Exception Seventeen – Floodprone - Holding (R1-17(f)-h) Zone;
  •  Residential Type One – Exception Nineteen – Floodprone - Holding (R1-19(f)-h) Zone.

AND TAKE NOTICE THAT Council will hold a virtual public meeting on the 7th day of June, 2022, at the hour of 3:00 p.m. for the purpose of informing the public in respect of the proposed by-law and to give the public an opportunity to make representation in respect of the proposed by-law.

AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE THAT If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Municipal Council for the Town of Bancroft to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Bancroft before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision;

AND FURTHER THAT If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipal Council for the Town of Bancroft before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of the proposed zoning by-law amendment to the Town of Bancroft's Comprehensive Zoning By-Law 27-2006 is to amend the aforementioned zones to permit an increase in the permitted height from one storey to two-storeys and to permit an increase in the permitted Gross Floor Area (GFA) from 140 sq. m (1,500 sq. ft.) to 205 sq. m (2,000 sq. ft.)
