About Bancroft

The Town of Bancroft Municipal office itself is a piece of history. It is located in what used to be the town's train station, first constructed in 1899. Being a stop on the Central Ontario Railway, the first train arrived to the Bancroft station in November of 1900.  Though the train station now ceases to operate, through the help of the community it was converted to an office space, as well as underwent an addition to house the Mineral Museum.

Bancroft is rich in history, dating back centuries. For more information on Bancroft's history, click here. For a history timeline more detailed,  click here.
